Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Full of potential and promise, sadly disappointing
A great idea: all your MP3's, digital photo's and home movies that are stored on your PC, accessible through your TV. The unit has digital outputs for connection to your home cinema sound system if you have one, or standard RCA connections to link to your stereo. The MP3 digital to analogue converter is very good, so if you have gone to the trouble of encoding your MP3's at a high bitrate you will hear it if you have reasonable hi-fi gear.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Does what it says on the tin and very well.
This is an excellent product that works flawlessly.

First, you'll need to install the software for your PC, which sends the songs, etc. to your DSM-320. This is a two-minute job -- insert the disk, let it install, tell it where to go for music, photos, etc. and it does the rest, scanning the folders for any media content.

Installation of the unit itself is a piece of cake, as is configuring the thing -- you're prompted to do everything when you turn the unit on for the first ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Does what it says on the box!
Having bought a multimedia link from a well known competitor and having to take it back as it wouldn't recognise my network, I decided to try the DSM-320 based on other customer reviews. I was rather apprehensive because of the problems I'd had with my previous purchase and in all honesty, I'm not the most technically minded person on the planet so all the talk of IP addresses and servers go straight over my head!
However, I followed the instructions (it does help!)and it worked straight away! I ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - It's not quite as good as it claims
Sadly the DSM 320 doesn't quite deliver as promised. The biggest problem being video files, which constantly freeze and do not play smoothly. D-Link don't seem to be interested in addressing the problem, and a quick search on the internet proves that every owner of this kit has the same issue. If you are looking to buy this equipment to play movie files, then avoid the disapointment and buy something better.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Go straight for Microsoft WMC
Although it only took about 5 minutes to get the device on my network (it's a bit fiddly entering a 128-bit WEP key using the remote!) I then struggled for a couple of hours trying to get it to see my computer. After resetting the unit a couple of times, downloading the latest firmware and re-installing the server software on my PC, I resorted to a Google search and came across some references to Microsoft Windows Media Connect, which also mentioned the DSM-320. I downloaded version 2.0 from the Microsoft ... Read More
